Geotope conference and excursion in Flims

The International Annual GeoTop Conference of the Geotopes and Geoparks Section of the DGGV took place this year from 26 to 29 June in Switzerland. Geoscientists from German-speaking countries met in Flims (Canton Graubünden) to discuss the topic of "Geoinformation in the digital age - How can we all win?". The AdG (Working Group of German Geoparks) also used the time in the Swiss Alps for its hybrid meeting. An excursion led by Dr Sibylle Knapp to Flims landslide, the largest landslide in the Alps, met with great interest. The Managing Director of the Swabian Alb UNESCO Geopark wrote her doctoral thesis on the increasingly topical subject of "geological hazards".
